A suite of three duets based on music inspired as I drove, climbed and hiked thorugh the American Pacific Northwest. The difficulty level is similar to, or a bit easier than, Ten American Cello Etudes.

The Fiddlers is based on country fiddle technique. Old Growth Forest Stream is a gentle American waltz inspired by the virgin forests of Washington State and the 2nd movement of Beethoven's 6th. The final movement is based on blues-rock and inspired by hiking and creating echos in the mountains of Glacier National Park, Montana.

There are five part books - violins, violas, cellos, basses, guitars. The pieces can be played as a suite or individually as duets of any combination, up to a full string orchestra. They are fun and challenging for high school level orchestras but are suitable for professional concerts as well. See videos of the movements on YouTube. These books are available exculsively here at!
