Divinity of Doubt: The God Question
Lawyer Vincent Bugliosi can argue case after case in court and come up a winner. He was on the radio today making the case for his book Divinity of Doubt: The God Question. I was frankly surprised at one of the arguments he put forth. He argued that it was irrational to believe in Judaism because the "God of the Old Testament" killed everyone in the flood and told various Jewish leaders to destroy certain cities. Yet he thinks it is rational to believe in Jesus.

The disconnect could not be more obvious. Jesus claims to be of or from the same God! He even says that "Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." So clearly Jesus himself believed in the goodness of the commandments of this same God.

It is shocking to me that a man who is otherwise brilliant can express such a contradictory idea and not have the perspective to see the illogic of it.
