Festival of Lights
I just lit the first candle for Chanukah, and I realized that Chanukah is known as the festival of lights. So actually the whole idea of lights at this time was originally a Jewish idea. Probably years ago the Christians saw our menorahs in the windows and felt jealous. Their kids said, "How come the Jewish kids have candles and we don't?" So some enterprising Christian (or maybe it was a Jew) came up with the idea of Christians putting electric lights all over their houses. Now the Jewish kids are jealous when they see all the Christian lights so now there are even Chanukah lights. I've seen Jews now decorating their homes with blue and white lights, the color of the Israeli flag. I've seen giant electric dreidles in lawns. What will they think of next? No wonder the Muslims want to get into the act! What about the atheists? What can they do? How about black lights? Yes, spread a little darkness!
