Commercials fry your brain
The whole point of a commercial is to get you to remember it. Often that is done by being really stupid and/or annoying. There was one many years ago for 7Up. Come to think of it, I haven't heard a commercial for that in years. But it was just this guy saying, "All I can say is 7Up is the greatest. All I can say is 7Up is the greatest. All I can say is 7Up is the greatest. All I can say is 7Up is the greatest." That one was so stupid I remember it to this day.

Neal Goldstein used to post here. I wonder if he is still around. But when we were in junior high school we used to laugh about this commercial that showed these really tough looking black youth shooting hoops in a burned out school yard and in between shots that would yell at the camera in a threatening way, "Quit busting up our schools". It was an add I guess intended to generate sympathy, but we would imitate them and say, "Quit busting up our schools. We want to do it ourselves."

How about that brilliant ad that read, "This is your brain." And it showed an egg. Then it said, "This is your brain on drugs." And it showed an egg frying in a pan.

I saw a great poster that had one more picture. It was an egg frying in a pan with bacon and it said, "This is your brain on drugs with two strips of bacon."

Speaking about frying your brain, check this out:
